Dave Hilditch is the founder of Super Speedy Plugins – a software architect who’s been coding since he was just 6 years old on his C64. He hates slow performance but loves solving performance problems.

Super Speedy Plugins is a company that specialises in creating WordPress plugins aimed at maximising the performance of WordPress websites. We toyed with the idea of our tagline being ‘No Go Slow!’ but ended up choosing ‘Never worry about WordPress performance ever again!’

Every update is tested against our million product demo store to ensure the performance and scalability of our plugins never, ever drops. We also pay close attention to user feedback and practice user-driven development.

Yes. We do not provide caching ourselves. Our plugins are independent of caching plugins – we’re optimising stuff at the page generation level. Personally, I (Dave Hilditch) recommend you use an Object Cache plugin of some kind (Redis by Till Kruss is great!) and then I’d suggest you handle page-caching through your server rather than a plugin, but using a page-caching plugin like WP Rocket also works.

Page-speed optimizers are reducing how much content gets sent to the browser. This is especially important these days with mobile phones being used so heavily, but this ‘asset optimisation’ is not something that our plugins handle. We improve the speed of how data is retrieved, how search is performed, how imports are processed, so our work is completely separate from asset optimizers.

Super Speedy Plugins was founded in Scotland (Dave is Scottish), but has since relocated operations to Paros, Greece, whilst our official company address is now in Estonia – the home for growing digital companies in the EU. We also have a Dutch Glyn.

All of our plugins are sold with a GPL license meaning technically you could buy a 1-site license and install it on 1000 sites and it would be perfectly legal. We’re a small team though and we’d like to grow a little and build even more great plugins, so where possible please buy a license per website. We have various plan-levels suitable to everyone.

Yes! Finally in 2024, we introduced our free plan, starter plans and then the other plans. The free plan will be enough for many of you, but will also give you a flavour of how performance-obsessed we are. Please check individual plugin sales pages for the various plan offerings.

We really are a small team and Dave is incredibly busy. Handling support through public discord channels means you get instant answers, others get to learn from the question & answers and our doc writers get to evolve our KB guides. At some point, we will code up an email Discord Bot which will let email us and then we can insta-reply through Discord to then send an email back to us – in the meantime, we ask you to work with us as we think our Discord server is one of the best things since sliced bread.

If it’s really obvious that something would benefit the plugin and would lead to more sales, we’ll most likely just go ahead and implement that thing. If there’s something that only you want added as an option, we provide a subsidised development option where you can pay a reduced rate for development, get the feature added, and additionally depending on how much you spend we tend to throw in lifetime licenses.
